Bolt d’Oro covered mares in high demand at Keeneland

November 14, 2019

Through the first two books of the Keeneland November sale, Bolt d’Oro led all First-Crop covering sires by sales average versus covering stud fee, ahead of Justify, City of Light and Good Magic, among others.

Bolt d’Oro’s average mare price of $187,500 was 7.5 times his covering fee of $25,000. After covering 214 mares in 2019, one of the highest numbers of any stallion in North America, Bolt d’Oro will stand for the same fee in 2020.

Bolt d’Oro, a son of leading sire Medaglia d’Oro, retired to Spendthrift Farm a millionaire, winning the Del Mar Futurity (G1) and FrontRunner S. (G1) at two and the San Felipe S. (G2) at three.
