Bolt’s Broad the 15th winner for leading First-Crop sire Bolt d’Oro

Bolt’s Broad came from the back of the pack and rallied through the stretch to get a nose in front on the wire in a one-mile maiden special weight race on Friday at Del Mar.

The 2-year-old filly is the 15th winner for Bolt d’Oro, who leads the First-Crop sire list with $1,157,506 in progeny earnings to date. Bolt’s Broad was unhurried early and was last of seven after a half-mile, when she trailed the leaders by some eight lengths. She began her run entering the final turning, picking off horses as she came five-wide into the stretch. She was still fourth with a furlong to run, but out-footed Classymademoiselle in deep stretch to get the win.

Bolt’s Broad is a Ruis Racing LLC homebred. Her dam Awesome Broad has been an excellent producer, with three stakes winners to her credit.
