Bright Forecast the first winner for Cloud Computing

June 30, 2022

Spendthrift Farm freshman sire and classic winner Cloud Computing sired his first winner on June 30 when his 2-year-old colt Bright Forecast won at first asking at Delaware Park.

Breaking alertly from post four, Bright Forecast pressured Dagda through the first three furlongs before taking over in upper stretch and drawing off smartly to win by 3 ½-lengths while stopping the clock in 59.05 seconds on the local main track.

Owned by Manfred Roos, the 2-year-old dark bay was bred in Kentucky by Jay Goodwin and Cloyce C. Clark, Jr.

Cloud Computing’s first offerings have been some of the most sought-after juveniles during this spring’s 2-year-old sales, averaging more than 13 times his stud fee. His top colt sold for $560,000 at the OBS March Sale, while his top filly sold for $400,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May sale.

Campaigned by Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence, Cloud Computing won his debut in February of his 3-year-old campaign. He placed in both the Gotham S. (G3) and Wood Memorial (G2) before winning the Preakness S. (G1). He retired with $1,125,200 in earnings.

Cloud Computing is standing the 2022 breeding season at Spendthrift for a fee of $5,000 S&N.
