Can the Man colt saunters to debut victory

First-Crop sire Can the Man tallied his fourth winner on Sept. 3 when Spectacular Gem won his debut at six furlongs at Ellis Park.

After overcoming a troubled start, Spectacular Gem rallied strongly to win going away by 2 1/4-lengths in 1:12 flat on the fast main track.

The winner is owned by Candie Baker and was bred in Kentucky by Ledgelands LLC and Andrew Ritter.

Graded stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Can the Man was bred to an average of 107 mares in his first three seasons at stud. His juveniles have sold up to $230,000 this year, while his biggest crop to date will be 2-year-olds in 2019.
