Christian d’Oro rolls to easy MdSpWt victory

December 5, 2022

Leading First-Crop sire Bolt d’Oro tallied his 23rd overall winner on Dec. 5 when Christian d’Oro was a decisive 6 ¾-length winner of a six-furlong maiden special weight race at Zia Park.

The bay filly was second until just after the half-way point, when she took command on her own, then kicked clear in the stretch to win by as much as she pleased.

Christian d’Oro is owned by G. Chris Coleman and was bred in Kentucky by Ben D Farm. She is the first foal out of Mary Sue Weloveyou, who has three stakes-winning siblings. She comes from the immediate family of Grade 1 winner Mitterand.

Bolt d’Oro currently leads the First-Crop sire list by progeny earnings with $2.46 million. His 14 black type horses and five stakes winners include the graded winners Instant Coffee, Major Dude and Boppy O.
