Conformist streaks to Churchill maiden debut win

October 30, 2020

Hit It a Bomb latest winner Conformist turned in a sparkling debut effort Oct. 30 at Churchill Downs, drawing off in the stretch to break his maiden by 5 ¼-lengths.

The bay 2-year-old is the fourth winner for his First-Crop sire, who already has accounted for Best Pal S. (G2) winner and Grade 1-placed Weston, Grade 2-placed filly Miss Costa Rica, and the twice stakes-placed filly Tic Tic Tic Boom, who is entered in Sunday’s Chelsea Flower S. at Belmont Park.

Conformist was in a heated three-way duel for the lead through the first half-mile, then shook clear of the competition to win with authority.

The winner is owned by Summerplace Farm and was bred by Scott and Debbie Pierce.
