Cowboy Mischief collects second stakes win

December 16, 2019

Cowboy Mischief got his second stakes victory of the year on Dec. 15 at Remington Park when the 3-year-old Into Mischief colt sauntered to a two-length win in the Jim Thorpe S.

Winner of the Oklahoma Turf Classic in October, Cowboy Mischief sports a solid 4-3-2 record from 10 starts, with earnings of $223,618 for owner/breeder Kelly Thiesing.

Cowboy Mischief, in post 11, was three-wide most of the one-mile trip, but easily moved to the front with about three furlongs to run and was going along easily when he crossed the wire (VIDEO).

The gray/roan colt is the second foal from stakes winner Lady Jensen, who is a half-sister to $1.5 million earner Soldier’s Dancer.

Into Mischief is by far and away the leading General Sire of 2019, with progeny earnings topping $18.6 million, three million more than any other sire in North America. He has 216 individual winners to date, the most in a single year on record.
