Spendthrift Farm’s leading First-Crop Sire of 2018 Cross Traffic got his first champion when Jaywalk was named the Eclipse Award Winner as the top 2-year-old Filly at the awards ceremony on Thursday evening.

Jaywalk capped off a spectacular season with a 5 1/2-length win in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) at Churchill Downs. Prior to that, the gray speedster won four of five starts, including the Frizette S. (G1). She finished the year with earnings of $1,384,200.

Trained by John Servis, Jaywalk is currently working at Palm Meadows in anticipation of her 2019 debut. Owned by D. J. Stable LLC and Cash is King LLC, Jaywalk sold for $190,000 at the 2017 Keeneland September Yearling sale. She was bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Thoroughbreds.

Cross Traffic’s runners earned $2,115,603 last year, with 18 individual winners, and a First-Crop leading five stakes winners and eight stakes horses.  His fee this year at Spendthrift is $25,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
