Feeling Mischief wins Sandpiper S. in stakes debut

December 6, 2020

Into Mischief’s 29th stakes winner of 2020, Feeling Mischief, set a stakes record in Saturday’s Sandpiper S. at Tampa Bay Downs, covering the six furlongs in a swift 1:09.76.

The 2-year-old filly, who broke her maiden by eight lengths in her Aug. 3 debut, has now won two of three starts, with one third, and has earned $61,100 for Mellon Patch Inc.

With Briella shooting right to the lead, Feeling Mischief chased the pacesetter through a quarter-mile in :22.26 and a half in :44.74. At the top of the stretch, Feeling Mischief surged to the lead and never looked back, winning by two lengths.

“I thought she was a (sure) winner today,” trainer Mike Campbell said. “She is just a spectacular horse, and today I let her go because she doesn’t want to be restricted. She wants to be a free-running horse and we took that approach.

Feeling Mischief was bred in Kentucky by Stonehaven Steadings.
