Flat Out sophomore tallies first stakes win

United Patriot ran past Shannon C in mid-stretch en route to a 3 1/2-length win in the Jim Thorpe S. Dec. 16 at Remington Park to give the 3-year-old son of Flat Out his first stakes win [WATCH RACE].

Flat Out has been one of the leading producers of winners in his first two years at stud, and with 66 to date this year, he ranks in the top five on the Second-Crop Sire list.

Stakes-placed earlier this year, United Patriot earned his first added-money win with a strong final quarter mile in the Thorpe, overtaking Shannon C after stalking in third most of the way.

The winner was bred by Center Hills Farm and is owned by Robert G. and Robert K Nokes. He was a $155,000 purchase at the 2017 Barretts March 2-year-olds in Training sale.
