Gee She Sparkles backed up her June 15 debut maiden win with an even more impressive performance in Sunday’s $100,000 Texas Thoroughbred Futurity, besting a field of 11 2-year-old fillies by a widening 5 ¼-lengths (VIDEO).

Besides being the first stakes winner for her sire, Gee She Sparkles’ win moved Race Day into the top five on the First-Crop Sire list. He is also one of only four freshman sires with a stakes winner.

Breaking from the outside post, Gee She Sparkles was hustled out of the gate and quickly made her way into third, where she stayed until just outside the quarter-mile mark, when she made a bold bid for the lead. Drawing away from the field swiftly, she came home an easy winner under Danny Sorensen.

Gee She Sparkles races for GFB Racing LLC and Danny Pish, who is also her trainer. Bred by Inside Move, Gee She Sparkles is out of the Indian Charlie mare Pata Fresca.
