Golden Mischief up in time in Letellier Memorial

December 17, 2016

Golden Mischief wrapped up her 2016 campaign in style Saturday at Fair Grounds with a 2 1/4-length score in the $50,000 Letellier Memorial S.

The 2-year-old Into Mischief filly is now a two-time stakes winner and has taken four of her eight lifetime starts, and has earned $166,730 for owners Bill and Corinne Heiligbrodt.

Golden Mischief was near the back of the seven-horse field early on, but David Flores found clear running on the far outside coming into the stretch to rally his mount to the front inside the furlong marker. Golden Mischief pulled away late to get the six furlongs in 1:10.90.

The winner was bred by Fredericka Caldwell and is out of the stakes-placed Lanai City, a sister to multiple graded stakes winner Eagleton. Heiligbrodt purchased Golden Mischief for $180,000 out of the 2015 Fasig-Tipton Winter Mixed sale.

Into Mischief continues to top the 2016 2-year-old Sire list by earnings, with more than $3 million, and winners, with 33 to date.
