Hunka Burning Love too good in $100,000 Delta Mile

November 28, 2020

Into Mischief’s 6-year-old son has had the best year of his career in 2020, winning three stakes, the latest coming Saturday night in the $100,000 Delta Mile at Delta Downs.

Hunka Burning Love is undefeated in four starts at a mile this year, including a win in the Lone Star Mile, as well as winning the 1 1/8-mile Governor’s Cup at Remington Park. He has earned $481,329 in his career.

After contesting the lead with Stephen’s Answer for six furlongs, Hunka Burning Love took over the top spot and never looked back, winning by four lengths over a very sloppy racetrack.

Hunka Burning Love is owned by End Zone Athletics Inc. and was bred by Morris Floyd and Chuck Givens.

With record progeny earnings of $21.5 million, nearly $10 million more than any other North American sire, Into Mischief is certain to be the #1 General Sire for the second year in a row. He is the sire of leading Horse of the Year candidate Authentic and the 3-year-old filly Gamine, winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) against older horses.
