Into Mischief colt chalks up second stakes win

September 3, 2018

Battle At Sea proved to be too much for his foes in Sunday’s A. L. Erwin S. at Louisiana Downs, coasting to victory by nearly two lengths over the sloppy going in the 1 mile and 70 yard event for 3-year-olds (VIDEO).

Winner of the Crescent City Derby at Fair Grounds in March, the son of Into Mischief upped his overall record to 3-0-1 in nine starts for owner Three Diamonds Farm and trainer Mike Maker.

Battle At Sea is just one of 14 stakes winner this year by Into Mischief, who currently sits in fourth on the 2018 General Sire List with nearly $9.6 million in progeny earnings.

Battle At Sea was the odd-on favorite at Louisana Downs. Under stout restraint in second through the first half mile, he assumed command without urging and was confidently handled the rest of the way to win comfortably.

The winner was bred by Clear Creek Stud LLC and has six sibling who are winners. His stakes-placed dam Mystery At Sea is a sister to millionaire and multiple graded stakes winner Desert Waves.
