Into Mischief colt crushes Queenston S. foes

Conquest Enforcer returned to the races in a big way in Saturday’s $150,000 Queenston Stakes at Woodbine, demolishing his foes by 7 3/4-lengths and setting up the Into Mischief colt for a possible run in the Queen’s Plate (G1), the first leg of the Canadian Triple Crown.

Off since winning the $250,000 Cup and Saucer S. last October, Conquest Enforcer was ready for his return to action, going to the lead very quickly under Phil Husbands. Getting the half-mile in :47.69 seconds with a half-length lead, Conquest Enforcer began to pull away around the turn, then poured it on in the stretch to dominate his disheartened competitors.

“I’ve always had confidence in this horse. I’ve been breezing him since day one and I knew coming into this race it was going to take a good horse to beat him,” said Husbands.

Trained by Mark Casse for Conquest Stables, Conquest Enforcer has won two of three outings, and could now be pointed for the July 3rd Classic.

“There’s about five weeks left and we’ll see how he comes out of the race. We just have to keep our fingers crossed and go from there,” said Husbands.

Conquest Enforcer, bred in Ontario by Tall Oaks Farm, banked $94,500 in victory while improving his overall earnings to $196,978.

Conquest Enforcer is the second stakes winner this month for Into Mischief, who is the sire of three millionaires and 13 black type winners lifetime.
