Into Mischief filly emerges for first stakes win

April 2, 2018

Defy came through a dense fog to capture the $50,000 Miranda Diane S. on April 2 by more than four lengths, the first stakes win for the 4-year-old Into Mischief filly.

With the track completely shrouded, the early race set up was left to the imagination. It wasn’t until the final furlong that the horses came into view, with Defy clearly in front. The bay filly completed the six furlongs on a fast track in a quick 1:09.30 (VIDEO).

Defy is trained by Chris Hartman for Foster Racing Stables. She was bred in Kentucky by Hart Farm and is out of two-time stakes winner Shy Lil.

Into Mischief is the sire of five stakes winners and 15 stakes horses in 2018, including leading Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Audible, recent winner of the Florida Derby (G1).
