Into Mischief’s juveniles dominated the final session of the April 20-23 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale, with and $875,000 colt topping the entire day and a $750,000 filly the highwater mark paid for a distaffer during the session.

The colt was the first of the duo into the ring. Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, hip No. 1039 went to Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Whitehorse Stables, with Jacob West, agent, bidding on their behalf. The colt was bred in Kentucky by Tami Bobo.

“He’s by a stallion that needs no introduction out of a cross that works, out of a Medaglia d’Oro mare,” West said. “He’s potentially a stallion type and that’s what Eclipse and Mr. LaPenta are looking for. So he fit the mold for what we were wanting.”

The filly, hip No. 1099, consigned by Randy Miles, agent, went to Frank Fletcher, with agent Donato Lanni doing the bidding for the filly who had breezed a bullet furlong of :09 4/5 seconds at the Under Tack show.

Fletcher is the owner of Into Mischief’s multiple Grade 2 winner Frank’s Rockette.

“I waited for her,” Lanni said. “I hate saying it, but she did check all the boxes. She is by a prolific sire and she looks like she’ll go two turns. She’s just got class. She is a beautiful filly and a good mover. Frank Fletcher has been lucky with that sire. We’re very happy we got her.”

The bay filly was bred by Bloom Racing Stable and is out of a Meta Mu, a half-sister to a pair of stakes-placed mares.
