Into Mischief’s Cool Arrow tallies fourth stakes victory

August 2, 2020

Veteran performer Cool Arrow registered the fourth black type win of his career Sunday at Gulfstream Park with a commanding 4 ½-length victory in the six-furlong Open Lead S.

Cool Arrow was one of two stakes winners on the day for Into Mischief, who now has 75 lifetime and is currently the leading General Sire of 2020 with 21 stakes winners and progeny earnings of over $7.8 million to date this year.

Cool Arrow got an ideal trip under Leonel Reyes. Sitting on the fence the entire trip, he was fourth early on, then shot through an opening at the top of the stretch and spurted away from the field to win easily.

“It was easy. He’s a nice horse. The trainer said get good position and when I was able to get good position into the stretch, I knew we’d win,” said Reyes.

Cool Arrow is trained by Teresa Pompay for My Purple Haze Stables. The 6-year-old has banked $533,043.

Bred in Kentucky by H. Allen Poindexter, Cool Arrow comes from the same family as classic-placed colt Kingpost.
