Jackie’s Warrior named an Eclipse Award finalist

January 15, 2022

Jackie’s Warrior was named one of three Eclipse Awards finalists in the Male Sprinter Category during Saturday’s announcement show. The Awards will be given out at the Feb. 10 ceremony to be held at Santa Anita Park.

Spendthrift Farm acquired the breeding rights for Jackie’s Warrior in late 2020.

The newly-turned 4-year-old had a terrific 2021 campaign, winning four graded stakes: the Allen Jerkens S. (G1), the Gallant Bob S. (G2), the Amsterdam S. (G2), and Pat Day Mile (G3), with an average margin of victory of over four lengths.

Owned by Kirk and Judy Robinson, Jackie’s Warrior has won over $1.5 million and is a three-time Grade 1 winner.

Jackie’s Warrior is expected to return to the races in the spring of this year.

“He’s an unbelievable, tremendous horse,” trainer Steve Asmussen told the Daily Racing Form in late 2021. “I thought that the Allen Jerkens against Life Is Good was as good as horse racing gets. Unbelievably fortunate to be involved with him and very anxious to race him next year – because they don’t get any better.”
