Jimmy Creed filly very sharp in first stakes win

October 7, 2020

Krunch put the squeeze on her foes in Wednesday’s $75,000 Merrillville S. at Indiana Grand, drawing off in the stretch to win the six-furlong contest by 4 ¼-lengths.

The 4-year-old Jimmy Creed filly is one of eight stakes horses this year for her sire, who is second on the Cumulative Fourth-Crop sire list with 32 lifetime black type horses and 14 stakes winners.

Krunch turned in a solid time of 1:10.58 on the fast main track, taking command at the top of the stretch and never being seriously threatened after that.

The winner was bred by Deanna and Greg Baer and races for Spiess Stable LLC and Randy Klopp. The chestnut filly has won five of her six one-turn races and has earned $157,302.
