Jimmy Creed juvenile breaks maiden in stakes debut

July 29, 2019

Maskwecis rallied in the stretch to win the $50,000 City of Leduc S. July 28 at Century Mile racetrack to become Jimmy Creed’s 11th stakes horse of 2019.

After finishing a promising second in his July 11 debut over the same track, Maskwecis proved he was up to the step-up in class on Sunday, winning the 5 ½-furlong contest by nearly two lengths.

The winner is out of the Aptitude mare Maidstone, whose dam Apple of Kent was a Grade 2 winner and has two graded stakes-winning siblings.

The winner was bred by Doug Oberg and is owned by Red Ron Farms, J. Fenrich, and J. & C. Barker.
