Keeneland January starts off strong for Maximus Mischief

Maximus Mischief had one of the top five short yearlings by a freshman sire during Tuesday’s session the 2022 Keeneland January sale when hip No. 749 sold for $145,000.

The filly was consigned by Johnson Cross, agent for breeder Sovereign Farm, with Cash Is King LLC and Commonwealth New Era Racing the winning bidders.

The Kentucky-bred filly is out of Sheza Sweet Lemon, who is also the dam of stakes winner T D Dance and graded stakes-placed Kid Perfect.

Maximus Mischief, winner of the prestigious Remsen S. (G2) at two, is a son of Spendthrift’s three-time champion sire Into Mischief. Maximus Mischief entered stud in 2020 and bred 367 in his first two seasons at stud. He is standing the 2022 season for $7,500 S&N.
