Kelly’s Kidz the second MdSpWt winner for Maximus Mischief

Maximus Mischief became one of the few First-Crop Sires to have multiple winners when Kelly’s Kidz won his June 12 debut in a 4 ½-furlong maiden special weight affair for 2-year-olds at Parx.
Kelly’s Kidz showed determination usually seen only in older horses in a thrilling stretch battle with Mantaketheblesings. After getting the lead in the early stages, Kelly’s Kidz got a strong challenge from Mantaketheblesings, who actually took the lead inside the final furlong. Kelly’s Kidz was not finished and battled back along the rail to win by a neck.
The winner is owned and was bred by Cash Is King LLC and LC Racing LLC. Kelly’s Kidz hails from the family of 1998 Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness S. (G1) winner Real Quiet.
Maximus Mischief, whose first winner Kristinachrysalis won on debut May 25 at Pimlico, is in the top five on the First-Crop list, along with fellow Spendthrift stallions Mitole, Omaha Beach and Vino Rosso.
