Life At Ten gets fourth consecutive win in G3 Sixty Sails

April 18, 2010

Life At Ten, a five-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon, recorded her fourth straight victory, and the first in a graded stakes, with a one-length triumph in the $200,000 Sixty Sails (G3) at Hawthorne Racecourse on Apr. 17. She covered the 1 1/8-mile event in 1:51.02 over a fast main track.

Life At Ten was positioned perfectly in second under jockey Michael Baze behind the pace set by Jessica Is Back, who led through a quarter-mile in :24.41 and a half-mile in :49.06. The duo engaged in their own private match race ahead of the rest of the field. As they battled down the stretch, Life At Ten began to pull away from Jessica Is Back in the final strides for the win.

Prior to the Sixty Sails, Life At Ten had won three in a row at Aqueduct, including a pair of listed stakes in the Rare Treat and Snit S. She is trained by Todd Pletcher.

Bred by Nickleback Farm in Kentucky, Life At Ten is out of the winning Rahy mare Rahrahsixboombah. She is now 5-5-1 in 12 career starts, with earnings of $309,267 for owner Cynthia DeBartolo.

With a trio of stakes winners on the day, Malibu Moon is now ranked first on the North American general sire list by winners, with 54, and fifth in terms of earnings, in excess of $1.9 million.
