Madness another debut winner for Maximus Mischief

October 22, 2023

Madness came from last with three furlongs to run to score a two-length maiden special weight win on Oct. 22 at Gulfstream Park.

The 2-year-old filly is the 22nd individual winner this year for Maximus Mischief, most for any First-Crop sire. The Spendthrift stallion also tops the list with $1,440,604 in progeny earnings to date.

Unhurried out of the gate, Madness launched her winning bid midway through the turn. Picking off horses one by one, she struck the front just inside the furlong marker and won going away in :57.61 for the five furlongs on the Tapeta.

Madness is owned by D. J. Stable LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Richard E. Wilson. Madness’s dam Mine Own has five runners, all winners. This is also the family of Hall of Famer Exceller and champion Capote.
