Malibu Moon 2yo storms to stakes win in debut

July 18, 2015

Manipulated handled his racing debut in the $125,000 Rockville Center S. like a seasoned pro with a scintillating four-length victory on Saturday at Belmont Park.

The 2-year-old son of Malibu Moon showed a powerful turn of foot in the stretch, coming five wide on the turn to roll down the middle of the stretch, taking the lead inside the eighth pole and going on to victory. He covered the six furlongs in 1:12.67 over a “good” main track.

Trained by Jimmy Jerkens for the colt’s breeders Chester and Mary Broman, Manipulated is out of the stakes winner Silver Knockers, who earned nearly a quarter-million dollars in her career.
