Malibu Moon filly brings $650,000 Wednesday at OBS 2-year-old sale

A filly by top-10 sire Malibu Moon brought a winning bid of $650,000 during Wednesday’s session of the April 25-28 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
The filly’s bid was the second-highest during the session and third-most over the first two days.
Hip No. 591 was consigned by Eddie Woods, agent and was purchased by Speedway Stable. The filly had breezed a quarter-mile in 20 4/5 seconds flat during last week’s Under Tack show.
The bay Kentucky-bred is out of the graded stakes-placed More Than Ready mare In The Slips.
Malibu Moon’s 2-year-old sales average this year is a superlative $316,700. In addition to his outstanding results in the auction ring, Malibu Moon is the sire of leading contenders for both the Kentucky Derby (Gunnevera) and Kentucky Oaks (Farrell).
