Malibu Moon filly hammers for $500K at OBS

The last filly to go through the ring at the June 9-12 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training was hip No. 1310, a filly by Malibu Moon that sold for $500,000.
Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, the filly went to Summer Wind Equine. The filly was bred by Westbury Stables and had breezed a quarter-mile in a quick :20 3/5 during last week’s Under Tack show.
“She was beautiful, spectacular,” Woods said. “Her work was amazing. Her video was amazing.”
The bay filly is the first foal out of stakes-placed Iroquois Girl, who is a half-sister to graded winner Salty Strike and stakes winner Salty Response.
Despite limited racing opportunities in 2020, Malibu Moon is among the top 10 sires by stakes horses with six to date.
