Miss Sunset dominates in $150,000 Fleet Treat S.

July 30, 2017

Into Mischief’s multiple stakes winner Miss Sunset chalked up her fourth added-money win of her career on Sunday at Del Mar with a dominating performance in the $150,000 Fleet Treat S.

The 5 ½-length margin of victory was the largest in the 3-year-old filly’s career and was the first at seven furlongs for the versatile filly, who has won both sprinting and routing on the turf. Her overall record now stands at 5-1-1 in nine outings with $389,430 in earnings for Phil Lebherz and Alan Klein, who also bred the bay filly.

Miss Sunset, ridden by Mike Smith, set all the fractions, and after a half-mile in :45.47, she began to draw off and was under a hand ride to win as she pleased.

Into Mischief’s Practical Joke was also in action Sunday, beaten just a half-length in the $1 million Haskell Inv. (G1) at Monmouth Park. Practical Joke and Miss Sunset are two of their sire’s nine stakes winners and 108 overall winners this year.
