My Miss Chiff scores second straight stakes win

December 9, 2017

My Miss Chiff made it two stakes wins in a row on Dec. 9 with a gutsy score in the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Ladies Sprint at Fair Grounds. The 3-year-old Into Mischief filly won the Happy Ticket S. here on Nov. 18.

Setting just off the pace, My Miss Chiff pounced in the stretch to get the lead inside the final furlong, holding off Look Into My Eyes by three-quarters of a length in 1:11.45 for the six furlongs on a “good” main track.

“We got the trip we wanted,” jockey Mitchell Murrill said. “We sat outside. She does her own thing and then just takes me right back to the wire.”

My Miss Chiff scored her fourth victory in six lifetime starts and boosted her earnings to $159,660. The bay filly is owned by Town and Country Racing and was bred by Steve Holliday. Her dam Carl’s Frosty Girl won this same race twice in her career.

Into Mischief has had another banner year at stud in 2017, ranking #1 sire of 3-year-old and #3 sire of juveniles, as well has having six horses bring at least $500,000 in the auction ring.
