Omaha Beach’s hip No. 127 had plenty of pre-sale attention prior to entering the OBS sales ring on Tuesday, and elated her connections when she brought a top bid of $390,000 from Woodford Thoroughbreds.

The bay Kentucky-bred, coming off a 10-second flat work during the Under Tack show, was consigned by JVC Training and Sales’s Jorge Villagomez

“Her particularly, she’s been special for a long time,” said Villagomez. “They say the cream always rises to the top and she was always very fast so it’s no surprise that she came over here and did what she did. She had a ton of activity–almost an overwhelming amount. She was shown over 100 times. [Her breeze] was exceptional and everyone was on her.”

Villagomez, as agent, had purchased the filly for $40,000 during last year’s Keeneland September sale. She is the second foal out of Humor Me Dixie, who is a half-sister to multiple champion Blue Chipper and Reef Point, dam of multiple graded stakes winner Bubble Rock.

Omaha Beach is currently atop the Second-Crop Sire list with a remarkable nine stakes horses, topped by Santa Ynez S. (G3) winner Kopion and recent Limestone S. winner Hot Beach.
