Anakarina took the lead early in Saturday’s $100,000 Love Sign S. and never relinquished the top spot, battling to a neck victory over Conquerthosewecan to give the 4-year-old daughter of Vekoma her first stakes win [WATCH RACE].

Vekoma, who currently sits atop the 2026 Third-Crop sire list with over $7.6 million in progeny earnings, has a dozen stakes winners and 22 stakes horses this term.

Showing speed out of the gate, Anakarina took a narrow lead over Conquerthosewecan as she blazed through a quarter-mile in :21.90. Racing off the rail around the turn, she opened up a length lead at the top of the stretch, then dug in resolutely to get the win in 1:09.78 for the six furlongs on a fast track.

“She broke very well but had to fight through a gap between other fillies,” said winning rider Paco Lopez. “As soon as she did, she made her way to the lead easily. Maybe she waited a little bit on her rivals down the stretch, but still, she finished the job today.”

The winner is owned by Miller Racing LLC and has banked $380,261 from a record of 5-2-1 in 19 starts. The chestnut filly was bred in Kentucky by Dream Team Racing and is out of Tacit Approval, also the dam of two-time Grade 2 winner Hoist the Gold and stakes winner Mucho Macho Girl.
