Authentic colt turns in commanding performance in Gulfstream maiden win

Cool Intentions streaked to a four-length maiden special weight win Nov. 16 at Gulfstream Park to become the 19th overall winner for top-10 First-Crop sire Authentic.
The 2-year-old colt was making his second lifetime start, and first beyond six furlongs, in Saturday’s one-mile affair. After sitting patiently in third for the first five furlongs, Cool Intentions moved off the rail and went three-wide to sweep past the leaders before turning for home. He was unchallenged in the lane and came home a comfortable winner.
Cool Intentions is owned by Amo Racing USA, who purchased the bay colt for $285,000 at the 2023 Keeneland September sale. Bred by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, Cool Intentions is a half-brother to Telekinesis and her second dam is multiple graded winner Gold Mover.
Authentic, the 2020 Horse of the Year, covered 196 during this year’s breeding season. He will stand in 2025 for $25,000 live foal.
