Bolt d’Oro duo side-by-side in Preakness (G1) starting gate

May 14, 2026

Corona de Oro and Incredibolt will break from adjacent stalls in the starting gate for Saturday’s $2 million Preakness S. (G1), which is being held at Laurel Park while Pimlico undergoes renovations this year.

The pair of Bolt d’Oro colts took different paths to get to Saturday’s 1 3/16-mile race.

Corona de Oro, in post 11, has finished no worse than third in his three starts this year. He was third in the Lexington S. (G3) in mid-April at Keeneland. The bay colt, who is owned by On Our Own Stable, LLC, Commonwealth Stable, U Racing Stables, LLC, Saints or Sinners, Titletown Racing, Jim Nichols, Edwin S. Barker, Daniel Rivers, John Haines and his trainer Dallas Stewart, was on the also-eligible list for the Derby but did not draw into the race.

Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez will ride Corona de Oro for the first time.

In post 12, Incredibolt comes off a very good sixth-place finish in the Derby, rallying from well off the pace to lose by just four lengths. The Pin Oak Stud colorbearer is trained by Riley Mott. Prior to the Derby, Incredibolt won the Virginia Derby and also took the Street Sense (G3) at Churchill Downs to wrap up his 2-year-old campaign.

Jaime Torres, who has ridden Incredibolt in all six of his starts, will be aboard again on Saturday.

Post time for the Preakness, race 13, is 7:01 pm ET.
