Bring Theband Home makes the grade in Saratoga’s Troy S. (G2)

Into Mischief’s ultra-fast turf sprinter Bring Theband Home earned his first graded stakes win Sunday at Saratoga with a front-running score in the $300,000 Troy S. (G2).
The 5-year-old Live Oak Plantation’s homebred, who the July 4 Harvey Pack S., also over the Saratoga turf, is 6-3-1 in 13 starts and has earned $506,764.
Just as he did in the Harvey Pack, Bring Theband Home went right to the lead at the break. He blazed through fractions of :21.38 and :43.39, and despite the torrid pace, sprinted away from the field in upper stretch. He came home a 1 ½-length winner in 1:00.38 for the 5 ½-furlongs on the firm turf, missing the track record by less than a half-second.
“He’s a horse we kind of always thought was a good horse,” trainer Mark Casse said. “I didn’t know he was this good, but we were always kind of high on him. One thing I’ll have to say for Mrs. (Charlotte) Weber (of Live Oak Plantation), she’s a very patient lady. We’ve given him time, given him time, and it worked out.”
Casse indicated that the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) at Del Mar is the year-end goal, with either one or two preps prior to that race.
Bring Theband Home is the first foal out of Tizatude, whose siblings include Haskell Inv. (G1) winner Paynter and Grade 3 winner Tiz West.
Bring Theband Home is the 11th graded winner this year for six-time reigning champion sire Into Mischief, who leads this year’s list with nearly $19 million in progeny earnings.
