Creed’s Gold razor sharp in dominant Hendrie S. (G3) win
July 6, 2025

Creed’s Gold, a 4-year-old daughter of Jimmy Creed, was much the best in the $150,000 Hendrie S. (G3) Saturday at Woodbine, rolling to a 3 ¾-length win for her first stakes victory.
The flashy chestnut filly is the 24th lifetime stakes winner for Jimmy Creed, as well as being his seventh graded winner.
After running on the turf in her four previous starts, Creed’s Gold switched to the synthetic surface for Saturday’s 6 ½-furlong sprint. She was quickest out of the gate and held a narrow advantage over Run for the Hills through the first half-mile. After turning for home, she shook clear of the field, and with a powerful stretch run, drew off convincingly to finish the distance in 1:15.54.
“I looked at the form and I definitely wanted to get out of there running,” said Rafael Hernandez. “If she did let me get the lead, I was definitely going to get it and try to control the pace. I was able to break out of the gate and put her in a good position.”
Creed’s Gold is owned by Kristin Meldahl. With the win, the filly’s record now stands at 4-2-2 in 11 starts, with a bankroll of $256,688. She was bred in Kentucky by Linda Griggs.
