Greatest Joy the first winner for Greatest Honour

First-Crop sire Greatest Honour was represented by his first winner on July 6 at Presque Isle Downs when the 2-year-old filly Greatest Joy pounced late to win a five-furlong maiden special weight affair by a widening 1 ¼-lengths [WATCH RACE].
The bay filly, a Divine Light Healing Ministries homebred, got in a good stalking spot in third along the rail through the early stages. After coming into the stretch, she switched to the outside and surged past Castle Dark inside the final furlong, then drew clear to win handily.
Greatest Joy is the second foal out of Rossellini, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner and $1.8 million earner Red Knight, and also three-time stakes winner Macagone.
Greatest Honour, winner of both the Fountain of Youth S. (G2) and Holy Bull S. (G2), hails from of one of the most prolific female families this century. His dam Tiffany’s Honour is a half-sister to Rags to Riches and Jazil, who both won the Belmont S. (G1). Rags To Riches would go on to be named Champion 3-year-old Filly.
Greatest Honour entered stud at Spendthrift Farm in 2023 and stood for $7,500 S&N this year.
