Iron Dome rolled to a 6 ¾-length win in the $200,000 Albany S. Aug. 21 at Saratoga to give the 3-year-old Into Mischief colt his first stakes win.

Iron Dome now has won three races in a row by a combined 28 ¼-lengths, all at 1 1/8-miles,during the Saratoga meet.

Just as he did in his two prior wins, Iron Dome stalked the pace in second, content to let Hit the Post open up a four-length lead midway through the race. Iron Dome began to cut into the margin to move within a half-length with a three furlongs to run. He effortlessly took the lead on the turn, then powered away down the stretch to finish in 1:51.78 on a fast track.

“I’m very proud of the horse,” winning trainer Steve Asmussen said. “He’s obviously a big, beautiful horse–a nice Broman New York-bred that is coming into his own. I was very excited about getting him when we did (for $500,000) at Keeneland September, being Mr. Buff’s little brother and always being a fan of his and all the success he had up here. He’s making the family proud.”

Owned by L and N Racing LLC and Chester Broman, Sr., Iron Dome now sports a record of 3-0-2 in seven starts and has earned $235,711. He was bred by Chester and Mary Broman.

Iron Dome is a half-brother to millionaire New York-bred and 11-time stakes winner Mr. Buff and is the 178th lifetime stakes winner for Into Mischief.
