Into Mischief added yet another seven-figure sales horse to his extensive list on Wednesday at the OBS March 2-year-olds sale when hip No. 416 sold for $1.85 million.
The S B M Training and Sales, agent, consignee would ultimately be the top price paid for a colt during the first two days of the three-day auction.
The winning bidder for the colt was Donato Lanni, on behalf of Frank Fletcher Racing Operations.
“He is by one of the leading sires in our generation,” Lanni said of the colt. “He’s a fast horse. [Trainer] Bill Mott is going to get him and Bill really liked him. So he got a pretty good endorsement.”
Lanni was referencing the colt’s :09 4/5 breeze during the Under Tack show.
The bay colt was bred in Kentucky by River Bend Farm and is out of Grade 2-placed Sweet Diane, who is also the dam of stakes winner Miss Martini.
