Into Mischief’s Point Dume bests champion Book’em Danno in Carter S. (G2)
April 4, 2026

Point Dume won Saturday’s $300,000 Carter S. at Aqueduct in front-running style, holding off a stern challenge from last year’s champion sprinter Book’em Danno to win the seven-furlong race by a neck.
A winner of two listed races prior to Saturday, 5-year-old Point Dume is the 98th lifetime graded stakes winner for Into Mischief. His overall record is now 11-7-3 in 31 starts. Owned by Bush Racing Stable, Point Dume has earnings of $716,900.
Soon after the start, Point Dume forged his way to the front and narrowly led Acoustic Ave through fractions of :23.01 and :45.70. Book’em Danno made his bid for the lead just after turning for home. Point Dume would not relent and never was headed in the stretch as he got the distance in 1:22.53 on a fast track.
“He’s been doing so good, we couldn’t just go for one hundred [thousand] at Laurel,” said winning trainer Timothy Kreiser. “We said it is time to go for a little money and see what happens. Me and Eddie [jockey Edwin Gonzalez] have won a lot of races together up at Penn National and stuff.
“He is my kind of rider. We like speed. Go to the front, if they catch us, they catch us, if you have the best horse, they can’t catch them, right?”
The winner was bred in Kentucky by Sea Horse Breeders, LLC and originally sold for $450,000 at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
