Future Spendthrift Farm stallion and multiple Grade 1 winner Jackie’s Warrior was named one of the finalists for the 2-year-old Male Eclipse Award when the nominees were announced Saturday.

Spendthrift Farm acquired the breeding rights to Jackie’s Warrior, a son of Maclean’s Music, following his 5 ½-length tally in the Champagne S. (G1). His 100 Beyer Speed Figure in that race was the fastest since Daredevil in 2014.

Prior to the Champagne, Jackie’s Warrior set a stakes record in winning the Hopeful S. (G1) by 2 ¼-lengths and earning a 95 Beyer. A victory in the Saratoga Special S. (G2) marked his stakes debut. The trio of stakes wins made him the first horse since Dehere in 1993 to capture all three races.

Jackie’s Warrior is owned by Kirk and Judy Robinson and is currently in training with Steve Asmussen at Fair Grounds as he prepares for his 2021 debut.

Eclipse winners will be revealed during a virtual Eclipse Awards ceremony hosted by Spendthrift Farm on Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. (ET).
