Jimmy Creed’s Zero Blitz wins City of Laurel S. in black type debut

November 30, 2025

Zero Blitz surged in the final furlong to win the $100,000 City of Laurel S. Saturday at Laurel Park by a half-length over Otter Mischief (Maximus Mischief) to complete a Spendthrift Farm-sired exacta in the seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds.

The 3-year-old son of Jimmy Creed was making his stakes debut following a second-level allowance win over the same track and distance one month ago.

Facing a field of nine that included several stakes winners, Zero Blitz tracked a few lengths off the pace while well off the rail down the backstretch. Around the turn, Zero Blitz stayed in the three path and moved within four lengths of the leaders at the top of the stretch. With a relentless drive in the lane, Zero Blitz got by a very game Otter Mischief in the final sixteenth to secure the win.

Zero Blitz completed the distance in 1:24.65 seconds over the fast track.

Zero Blitz was bred in Kentucky by Conroy Thoroughbreds and is owned by his trainer Joanne Shankle. Zero Blitz is undefeated in his six starts at Laurel Park and has compiled a solid record of 6-1-3 in 11 starts, with earnings of $199,598.

With more than 70 lifetime stakes horses, Jimmy Creed’s progeny have earning nearly $40 million worldwide. He is slated to stand the 2026 season for $7,500 live foal.
