Maximus Mischief distaffers dominate in Liberty Bell S.

Icona Mama powered through the Parx stretch to win the $150,000 Liberty Bell S. by two lengths over Irish Maxima, triggering a Maximus Mischief-sired exacta in the 6 ½-furlong sprint for fillies and mares.
Icona Mama is the sixth stakes winner of 2026 for Maximus Mischief. Irish Maxima, who won both the Ruffian S. (G2) and Dashing Beauty S., is her sire’s leading earner this year.
Unhurried early, Icona Mama was well off the pace set by Haulin Ice and Irish Maxima, who dueled through a rapid half-mile of :44.07. Icona Mama began to make up ground around the turn, but still had some six lengths to make up at the top of the stretch. She found her best stride in the final sixteenth and blew past the leaders to win by two lengths, with Irish Maxima a clear second.
The winner now sports a record of 4-3-7 in 17 starts and has earned $408,451 for DeSales85 LLC. The bay 4-year-old was bred in Pennsylvania by J. Patrick Morell & Tanya Lobsiger.
