Maximus Mischief’s Intrepido draws rail for Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1)

October 28, 2025

Intrepido, a Grade 1-winning son of Maximus Mischief, would put himself squarely in position to earn an Eclipse Award should he win Friday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) at Del Mar.

The bay has already established his quality in winning the American Pharoah S. (G1) Oct. 4 at Santa Anita Park, and was a maiden winner going a mile at Del Mar on Aug. 23.

Intrepido drew post #1 in the field of eight and will be ridden by Hector Berrios for trainer Jeff Mullins. A $385,000 purchase out of the 2025 OBS Spring sale, Intrepido is owned by Dutch Girl Holdings LLC and Irving Ventures LLC. He was bred in Kentucky by Sierra Fria Farm LLC.

The Juvenile is race #9 on Friday, with a post time of 7:45 pm ET.

Intrepido and the now-retired Raging Torrent are both Grade 1 winners this year for Maximus Mischief, who is third behind Omaha Beach and Mitole on this year’s Third-Crop sire list.
