Mitole colt goes gate-to-wire to win Turfway Park Prevue
January 4, 2026
Undefeated Hometown Bound won his stakes debut on Jan. 3 when the 3-year-old Mitole colt scored a front-running victory in the $125,000 Turfway Prevue S.
The gray/roan colt led from start to finish of the 6 ½-furlong test. He opened up a two-length lead in the first quarter-mile and held that margin around the turn. Blessed Warrior, another son of Mitole who would finish third, made his bid in the stretch, but Hometown Bound turned him away and beat Trendsetter by 1 ¼-lengths at the wire.
Hometown Bound is owned by Colts Neck Stables LLC, who purchased him at the OBS March 2-year-old sale for $350,000. With two wins in as many starts, Hometown Bound has earned $105,200. He was bred in Kentucky by G. Watts Humphrey Jr., Victoria Oliver & G. Watts Humphrey III.
Mitole, who finished second to Omaha Beach on the 2025 Third-Crop Sire list, is standing in 2026 for $10,000 S&N.
