Mitole’s Diciassette weaves his way to victory in Proud Man S.

August 9, 2025

Diciasette did not have the easiest of trips in Saturday Proud Man S., but the 2-year-old son of Mitole found a way to win after changing paths multiple times in the Gulfstream Park stretch.

Now undefeated in two starts following his July 20 maiden debut win, Diciassette is the sixth stakes winner this year for Mitole. The Spendthrift stallion leads all Third-Crop sires with four graded winners and has progeny earnings of over $4.7 million this year.

Diciassette put himself in third between horses shortly after the start and held his spot down the backstretch and into the turn. Outside the quarter-mile pole, the bay colt was bottled up while looking for racing room. After turning for home, he had to go three-wide to make his way around horses, then in the final furlong dove back inside and took over in deep stretch to win by a length in 1:12 flat for the six furlongs over a sloppy racetrack.

“We were confident because he had been working very well and everything was perfect,” winning trainer Patrick Biancone said. “His health was perfect. But when you’ve just won first time out and you come back the second time in a stakes, it’s questionable. Plus, we had the slop.’

Diciassette is owned by Green With MV Stable and was bred in Florida by Dominique Damico. Diciassette’s dam Im a Dixie Diva is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Mor Spirit.
