Mitole’s Rising Inflation cruises to third stakes win of the year

December 13, 2025

Rising Inflation bounded home a 6 ¾-length winner in the $125,000 Ladies Turf S. at Fair Grounds to give the 4-year-old Mitole filly her third stakes win in her last four starts.

Much like she did in the Valene Memorial S. a month ago on Fair Grounds’ main track, Rising Inflation sat just behind the leaders before making her winning move about three furlongs from the finish. She easily took command from Highly Wicked with a quarter-mile to go, then drew off in the stretch to win eased up.

Owned by Mark Rose, Slam Dunk Racing and Dennis Bailey, Rising Inflation has an overall record of 6-0-2 in 11 starts, with earnings of $298,550.

The winner was bred in Louisiana by J. Adcock and Hume Wornall.

Mitole, second behind Omaha Beach on this year’s Third-Crop Sire list, has accounted for eight stakes winners in 2025, topped by this year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner Shisospicy, who was the first 3-year-old filly to win the race. Mitole’s 2026 fee is $10,000 S&N.
