Omaha Beach’s Caitlinhergrtness becomes millionaire with My Charmer S. win

Caitlinhergrtness reached millionaire status, the second to do so for leading Third-Crop sire Omaha Beach, with her victory in the $250,000 My Charmer S. Dec. 21 at Turfway Park.

Winner of the King’s Plate as well as a pair of graded stakes at Woodbine, Caitlinhergrtness was the prohibitive favorite in Sunday’s one-mile race over the synthetic surface.

After breaking alertly from her inside post, she settled in hand, a few lengths off the lead. Fourth after six furlongs in 1:12.72, jockey Flavien Prat took her off the rail to come four-wide into the stretch. With clear running Caitlinhergrtness rolled to the lead in the final furlong, winning going away by 1 ½-lengths under a hand ride.

Sunday’s win upped the 4-year-old’s record to 6-4-2 in 17 starts, with earnings of $1,071,569 for owner WinStar Farm LLC, who purchased her for $375,000 out of the 2023 OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.

Caitlinhergrtness was bred in Canada by Jesse Korona.
