Palace Avenger 10th winner for his sire
November 1, 2019
First-Crop sire Palace chalked up his 10th winner Nov. 1 at Churchill Downs with a game victory in a six-furlong maiden special weight affair.
The 2-year-old filly went to the front right from the start, battled with Wicked Smart through the first half-mile, then held off the late charge of Lucky Dime to win by a neck in 1:11.12 on the fast main track (VIDEO).
Palace Avenger was bred by Pillar Property Services, Inc. and hails from a very strong female family. Her second dam, Tomisue’s Indy, was a stakes winner and sister to Grade 1 winners Good Journey and Adebaran, as well as Grade 3 winner Sea of Showers.
Among Palace’s winners are stakes winner Chacha Real Smooth and stakes-placed Tensas Weezy. After breeding 120 mares this past season, Palace will stand the 2020 season at Spendthrift Farm for $5,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
