Taken by the Wind fended off Luv Your Neighbor at every point of call to win the $150,000 Silverbulletday S. Saturday at Fair Grounds.

The 3-year-old Rock Your World filly is now three-for-three lifetime, with a maiden win and a 5 ¼-length victory in the Pocahontas S. (G3) prior to Saturday’s victory.

The Silverbulletday is Fair Grounds’ traditional first race on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks, and Taken by the Wind picked up 20 points Saturday. She had earned 10 in the Pocahontas, and her total of 30 is currently third on the Oaks leaderboard.

Going to the lead immediately in the 1 mile and 70 yard contest, Taken by the Wind was allowed to post comfortable fractions of :25.69 and :50.24. She continued to maintain her one-length advantage around the turn, with Luv Your Neighbor still a length back coming to the homestretch. In the lane Taken by the Wind had to fight off the runner-up to her outside and Atropa to her inside, and she did just that, winning by a neck in a three-horse photo.

“She put us in that spot first jump out of the gate,” said winning jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. “They let us cruise around there as slow as we did. She had her ears up and was able to get a nice long breather. When Luv Your Neighbor came to her at the head of the lane, she was able to fend her off with how easily she was able to go early on.”

Take by the Wind now has amassed $270,710 in her three wins. She is owned by Magdalena Racing, Terry Bradshaw, Graham Leveston and Raasi Stable and was bred in Florida by Courtney L. Meagher.

Taken by the Wind is one of two stakes winners for Rock Your World, who was a top-five First-Crop sire of 2025 with six stakes horses and 20 individual winners. Rock Your World is standing this term for $7,500 S&N.
